  • Typhoid causes a lot of fatigue in your body, that is why you need to rest completely so that your body can put in all its strength to fight the disease. Do not go to work if you are suffering from typhoid and if your child has typhoid, do not let him go to school or play outside. 
  • In typhoid, a lot of water is released from the person's body, which can cause dehydration in his body. In such a situation, drink as much water as possible. It is advisable to boil water in typhoid and drink it, so that the germs present in it die. 
  • During typhoid, wear light and comfortable clothes and do not sit in front of a fan or AC. 
  • In case of typhoid, instead of eating a full meal 2 or 3 times a day, eat small meals at short intervals. 
  • The best home remedy for typhoid is to grind some basil leaves and mix them with saffron and add some black pepper to it. By doing this, a paste will be formed from this mixture, from which you can make pills. Consuming it three to four times a day provides relief in typhoid. 
  • A person suffering from typhoid should only take liquids, such as orange juice, barley water, milk and pomegranate juice etc. Taking orange juice is very beneficial, because it increases the energy and immunity of the body and more urine is produced. Due to this, the impurities present in the body are removed and the person is able to recover quickly. 
  • A person suffering from typhoid starts feeling cold and also gets a fever. However, such a person should not be made to wear too many clothes nor should he be given a blanket. 
  • In case of intermittent fever, you should take more carbohydrate foods which are easy to digest, such as khichdi and rice etc. 
  • It is advisable to drink vegetable juice in typhoid, but keep in mind that it should not contain spices or chillies. These can harm your intestines. It is advisable to boil and filter this juice before drinking it. 
  • A person can also be given a warm water enema for typhoid, but if you do not know how to give an enema, consult a trained person first. 
  • Sponge the person's body with normal temperature water at regular intervals. Use the sponge on his forehead, neck and armpits. If the person starts shivering, stop sponging. 
  • Take as much liquid as possible, such as coconut water, juice and glucose water etc. 
  • Taking one teaspoon of honey in a glass of warm water gives relief to the digestive system and also gives strength to the body. If you want, you can also mash a banana with honey and eat it. 
  • If you want, you can also take lemon water, but remember not to add sugar to it. 
  • If the patient has a fever of more than 103 degrees Fahrenheit, apply cold compress on his forehead and then wet a sheet in cold water and wrap it around his feet. Now put a warm cloth over this sheet. You should apply the compress on the forehead for an hour and repeat this process every 3 hours. Keep a hot water bottle around the person's body and soles. 
  • A healthy and balanced diet should be taken in typhoid. You should eat food that is easy to digest and also gives you nutrition. For this, eating fried foods, butter, ghee and meat is not recommended. 
  • Another remedy for typhoid is water and cloves. For this, boil five to six cloves in about 2 liters of water. You have to boil this water till the quantity of water is reduced to half. After this, leave the water to cool for some time and then filter it and drink it. Drinking this decoction little by little throughout the day can provide great relief. 
  • Cold drinks, soda, alcohol and caffeinated beverages should not be taken in typhoid fever. These can increase your problem further. 
  • Extracting coriander juice and mixing it with buttermilk and drinking it is a good remedy for typhoid fever. 
  • If you smoke, then try to quit this habit. If you are not able to do this, then at least do not smoke cigarettes until you are completely healthy and do not stand near any person who is smoking cigarettes because his cigarette smoke can also harm you. 
  • Medicines like paracetamol or ibuprofen available in medical stores can be taken for fever. However, before taking any medicine, consult your doctor. Once the fever subsides, the patient should be given fresh fruits and easy to digest food.
