This happens because taking these medicines together increases the metabolism of paracetamol, which in turn reduces its bioavailability (the proportion of a drug substance which enters the circulation). Yes, Epsolin is teratogenic (causes birth defects). As per clinical studies Epsolin can cause congenital abnormalities like "fetal hydantoin syndrome" when taken during pregnancy.
