According to dietician Kara Herbstreet, ghee usually contains 60 to 62 percent saturated fat, the rest of which comes from monounsaturated fat.

Dietician Kara Herbstreet says that because ghee contains more saturated fat than other foods, drinking coffee mixed with ghee will make you feel satisfied in the morning. However, many things eaten in breakfast are such that they contain more carbohydrates. They provide energy to your body, but they do not have as much energy as you need in the morning. Overall, drinking coffee mixed with ghee can be the right choice. Therefore, include a source of fat in your morning breakfast.

Registered dietitian nutritionist Summer Yule says that many health claims have been made online about the side effects of ghee. Despite this, research done on it shows that these claims are limited.

It is important to note that ghee (like butter) contains a lot of calories and fat. Experts are still debating how saturated fat affects the body. According to the American Heart Association, we should take only 5 to 6 percent of our total daily calorie requirement from such sources.

An average person needs 2,000 calories through his diet. Out of which about 120 calories (about 13 grams) is saturated fat. Therefore, there will be no harm in eating a spoonful of ghee.
