Ascoril D is available in the form of tablet, syrup, and lozenge. The tablet should be swallowed with water, the syrup should be taken with a measuring spoon or a container and lozenge should be allowed to melt inside the mouth. Ascoril D is taken every 4 to 12 hours as per the requirement. It is important to read the label carefully and follow the instructions completely. If you are giving Ascoril D to a child then make sure it is not given to a child younger than 4 years old. Also, make sure that you are using a brand that is exclusively for children. Be very careful while administering more than one type of drug to the child because if there is a common ingredient in more than one drug then it could lead to overdose. It is suitable to take Ascoril D under the guidance of a doctor or a pharmacist. It is also important to talk to your doctor if the symptoms do not improve in 7 days.

No, Ascoril D is not suitable for a patient with asthma. Ascoril D is suitable for treating cough originating from cold and flu. It is not suitable for treating cough due to smoking or asthma. Asthma is generally treated with two type of medication which are long-term control and quick-relief medicine. For long-term control, medicine helps reduce airway inflammation and prevent asthma symptoms where quick-relief medicine helps sudden relief from asthmatic symptoms.

Yes, Ascoril D may cause anxiety. Anxiety is a group of mental disorder characterized by excessive fear and feels nervousness. Sudden discontinuation of this drug after long-term usage in high doses may cause anxiety. Yes, Ascoril D may cause diarrhea during the withdrawal phase (when one stops using it after a long-term use). If you develop diarrhea while taking Ascoril D, Drink plenty of fluids and avoid spicy food.
