Briopt is a commercial drug that is prescribed in the form of Drops. Briopt also has some secondary and off-label uses. These are listed below.
The correct dosage of Briopt depends on the patient's age, gender, and medical history. Besides the medical condition it is advised for, the route of administration also plays an important role in determining the correct drug dosage. The side effects typically associated with Briopt include Eye Burning, Eye irritation, Stinging in the Eyes. Some other side effects of Briopt have been listed ahead. Such side effects of Briopt normally do not last long and go away once the treatment is completed. If, however, they worsen or do not go away, please speak with your physician.
It is also important to note that Briopt has a Mild effect for pregnant women and Unknown effect on lactating mothers. Warnings related to Briopt's effects on the liver, heart and kidney, if any, have been listed below.
Briopt is contraindicated in people with pre-existing medical conditions like Heart Failure, Diabetes, COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) as it can result in adverse effects. Some other conditions that can be affected by Briopt are listed in the contraindications section below.

Is the use of Briopt safe for pregnant women?
Briopt has mild to no side effects in pregnant women.
Is the use of Briopt safe during breastfeeding?
No research work has been carried out till date on effect of Briopt on breastfeeding women. So it is not known whether taking Briopt will cause side effects or not.
What is the effect of Briopt on the Kidneys?
Briopt may cause harmful effects on kidney. if you feel its having any such effect, then stop taking this drug, and restart only on your doctor's advice.
What is the effect of Briopt on the Liver?
There may be an adverse effect on the liver after taking Briopt. If you observe any side effects on your body then stop taking this drug. Take this medicine again only if your doctor advises you to do so.
What is the effect of Briopt on the Heart?
You may experience side effects on your heart after taking Briopt. If this happens, then discontinue its use. Consult your medical practitioner, and do as he/she suggests.
