Revidox is a prescription drug, available for use as Tablet. Primarily, it is used for the treatment of Bacterial Infections. Revidox also has some secondary and off-label uses. These are listed below.

Interaction between Alcohol and Revidox

Revidox is a brand name for doxycycline. It is a prescription drug that belongs to the class of medications called tetracycline. It is available in different dosage forms such as tablet, capsule, syrup, and cream. Revidox is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat bacterial as well as protozoal infection. It is used in the treatment of various type of infections such as pneumonia, respiratory tract infection, rickettsial infections, sexually transmitted infections, ophthalmic infections, anthrax including inhalational anthrax, and prophylaxis of malaria. It is also used in combination with other medications to treat acne and pimples. Sometimes Revidox is also used as an alternative treatment for selected infections when penicillin is contraindicated.
Revidox can be taken orally and applied topically. An oral form such as tablet should be taken with or without food. If the medicine causes stomach upset after taking this drug take it with food or milk and drink plenty of water. Duration and dose of the course will vary according to the severity of an infection. The topical form of medicine should apply to the affected area twice daily or advice by a doctor, do not apply more or less as recommended by healthcare practitioners.
Avoid taking Revidox with contraceptive pill because medicine can decrease the effects of the contraceptive pill. Keep your doctor informed before taking them together. Try other methods of contraception such as condoms, barrier methods to avoid unwanted pregnancies.
Discontinuing Revidox in between may promote resistance to bacteria which may result in a relapse of the infection. You are recommended to complete the 7 - 14 days course even after getting symptomatic relief. Incase you feel any discomfort such as breathing difficulties and skin reactions while taking this medicine please inform your doctor immediately.
Yes, Revidox can cause nausea & vomiting. It is one of the most common side effects of this drug. If you experience nausea & vomiting after taking this medicine, take plenty of fluid and keep your self-hydrated. If you feel severe nausea & vomiting after consuming this drug please inform your doctor and follow his/her instructions.
