Tamsin is a commercial drug that is prescribed in the form of Tablet. Primarily, it is used for the treatment of Enlarged Prostate.

Yes, Tamsin is used for the expulsion of large kidney stones. It is presumed that Tamsin helps in expulsion of kidney stones by relaxing the ureter and reducing the ureteral spasm which allows easy passage of the stone.
Tamsin is a brand name for tamsulosin. It belongs to a class of drugs known as alpha blockers. It is available in the form of a tablet and capsule. It is used in men for the treatment of enlarged prostate (benign prostate hyperplasia or BPH) which may comprise painful urination, difficulty in urinating (incomplete bladder emptying, hesitation, dribbling, weak stream), urgency and frequency. It is also used for the treatment of chronic prostatitis (off-label).
Rarely, Tamsin causes a persistent painful penile erection which is not related to an intercourse. This condition is known as priapism. If not treated properly, this condition can cause permanent impotence. Therefore, if you suffer from any such condition while taking Tamsin, please inform your doctor immediately.
Yes, Tamsin may cause an allergic reaction causing hives, rash, and itching. It may also cause swelling of the eyes, tongue, lips, arms, ankles, throat, feet and lower legs. If you suffer from any of these reactions, please inform your doctor immediately. He may ask you to discontinue using Tamsin.
Tamsin is available as a capsule and tablet to be taken by mouth in an empty stomach because food can delay the absorption of this drug and also decrease its bioavailability. Precaution must be taken in the patient with prostate cancer, sulfa allergy, and Intraoperative Floppy Iris Syndrome.
