Yes, Gudloric can be taken with colchicine. No drug-drug interaction has been reported between them. It is safe to take Gudloric along with colchicine if taken as recommended.
Yes, Gudloric has been reported to causes diarrhoea but this occurs in those cases who are taking more than the recommended doses. Drink plenty of fluids while you are taking this medicine. If you are experiencing severe diarrhoea after taking this drug, discuss it with your doctor immediately without any further delay.
Gudloric contains allopurinol that belongs to the class of drugs known as xanthine oxidase inhibitors. It works by inhibiting the xanthine oxidase enzyme (Responsible for uric acid production in our body) that lead to disruption in the biosynthesis of uric acid due to which its abnormally high levels are decreased in the body. The decreased levels of uric acid prevent the formation of uric acid crystals and calcium oxalate crystals. Hence, in this way, it prevents from gout.
Rarely, Gudloric causes joint pain. It is a known side effect of this drug. However, if you experience intense joint pain after taking this drug then you are advised to take some rest even after that it persists or becomes severe then discuss with your doctor and follow his/her instructions.
Rarely, Gudloric causes hair loss. This is a reversible side effect of Gudloric, the problem goes away after discontinuation of this drug. For partial hair loss, you are advised to use hair tonic and discuss with your doctor about a better treatment option for hair loss.
