Swiloric Information

Swiloric is a commercial drug that is prescribed in the form of Tablet. Primarily, it is used for the treatment of Gout, High Uric Acid Levels in the Blood. Other than this, Swiloric has some other therapeutic uses, which have been discussed ahead.

How does Swiloric work?

Swiloric contains allopurinol that belongs to the class of drugs known as xanthine oxidase inhibitors. It works by inhibiting the xanthine oxidase enzyme (Responsible for uric acid production in our body) that lead to disruption in the biosynthesis of uric acid due to which its abnormally high levels are decreased in the body. The decreased levels of uric acid prevent the formation of uric acid crystals and calcium oxalate crystals. Hence, in this way, it prevents from gout.
